Biography

Dr. Farmer's research lab is focused on sustainable agriculture and associated local food systems, as well as private land conservation and land trusts. Current projects focus on the use of high tunnels to provide year-round local foods; active management of private lands for ecosystem services; and climate change, municipal parks, and long term planning for adaptive management.
