Apply now: Sustainability Course Development Fellowship |
The Sustainability Course Development Fellowship (SCDF), sponsored by Sustain IU and the Integrated Program in the Environment supports faculty teaching of topics related to sustainability and environmental literacy at the IU Bloomington campus. Interested faculty can apply for a summer fellowship to create a new sustainability-focused course, or significantly altering an existing course to include a more substantial sustainability focus. Fellows receive an average of $4,500 to support summer course development work. |

RFP: Environmental Art Projects |
The New York Foundation for the Arts invites applications for its Anonymous Was A Woman Environmental Art Grants program, supporting environmental art projects led by women-identifying artists in the United States and U.S. Territories. Environmental art projects that qualify for this program may focus on the following themes but are not limited to: regeneration, eco-social engagement, decarbonization as decolonization, ecofeminism, climate change/climate collapse, systems-restoration, interspecies relationships, natural or built systems, recycling, and repurposing, clean energy production, and bioplastics. Award amounts up to $20,000. Deadline: April 18, 2023. |

On Feb. 17, more than 350 Hoosiers attended the Indiana Sustainability and Resilience Conference (ISRC) at the IUPUI Campus Center. The conference, hosted by Indiana University’s Environmental Resilience Institute and IUPUI Sustainability, brought together students, academics, industry leaders, local governments, community groups, and others for a day of knowledge-sharing and networking to advance climate resilience in the Hoosier State. |

IU Faculty part of NASEM committee advising EPA Office of Research and Development to shift to systems-based approach |
Shahzeen Attari, an associate professor at the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, was part of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine committee’s report, “Transforming EPA Science to Meet Today’s and Tomorrow’s Challenges,” which outlined ways the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development can shift to a systems-based approach to provide a substantially broader and better integrated approach to environmental protection. |
